Match Location: 412 Coal Valley Road, Clairton, PA

Match Date: September 1, 2001         Start Time: 9:00 AM

Relays / Firing Points:     2 / 12

Range: 200 yards

 

Conditions Governing Match:

1.      Rules:  This match was run in accordance with the rules set forth by the CMP Competition Rules.

2.      Open To:  Any individual eligible to compete under CMP Competition Rules.

3.      Rifle: As issued U.S. caliber .30, M1903 Springfield, M1917 Enfield, M1 Garand, M1941 Johnson, and U.S. Carbine, caliber .30 M1.

4.      Course of Fire:  John C. Garand Match Course B (50 shot course)

 

First Stage: Slow fire prone (5 sight-in shots, 20 record shots), 25-minute time limit.

Second Stage: Rapid fire, prone from standing. (10 record shots in 70 seconds)

Third Stage:  Rapid fire, sitting from standing. (10 record shots in 60 seconds)

Fourth Stage:  Slow fire standing. (10 record shots in 10 minutes)

 

CMP ammunition was issued to each competitor.

A total of seventeen competitors shot in this year’s match and trophy’s were awarded to the top three shooters of Clairton Sportsmen’s Club’s 4th annual John C. Garand Match.  The weather cooperated perfectly with clear skies, mild temperatures and NO wind a great time was had by all.
